lemme tell you about some bs

In case you hear in the news that the law that allows military personnel to serve in the Peace Corps was unknown to the entire Peace Corps organization, I just want you to know that that line is

Karen and I knew about this deal over two months ago, and we aren't privy to information PC brass like Vasquez isn't. We're the peons entering this goddamned organization, remember?

Military in the Peace Corps makes Karen and I LESS SAFE.

And I'm not just saying this cuz I'm not a fan of the president of the USA.

Host country nationals already suspect PC volunteers as military or intelligence operatives. This action makes it worse.

Join with me; write your senator. Tell them that Peace Corps needs to maintain the seperation from the military and intelligence communities that Kennedy intended when he created the Peace Corps.

I got your blog site from Bekah and Travis and I enjoy reading and agree with you that the government will be giving the peace corps a death sentence with this law. I am a 22 year old woman who will be in Morocco in March as a volunteer and this makes the security issue a bit scarier. Morocco is in a dangerous region but I have to trust the PC. Thank you for speaking out. I was wondering if I could have your permission to post this on my blog

Sure, just leave your blog address here.

I wish you well in Morocco.

Hi Larry and Karen,
I too will be leaving for Ukraine 29 so I look forward to meeting the two of you in Chicago.

I could not agree more about the military in the Peace Corps. Even as an exchange student in South America some folks would jokingly accuse us of being CIA spys, some were not joking however. I do not like the idea of having even more to contend with in our new home.

It'll be hard enough for this Texas boy to get used to the weather without having to worry about legitimate concerns like weather the police will have me deported. As I understand, this kind of thing has already happened.

Good luck and see you there,

Sean White
